Epic Slider

Changed

• The licence client now identifies the product to the YOOzeCase gateway as yc_epic_slider and

states the platform it runs on, so a key bought for the other edition (Joomla or WordPress) is refused instead of accepted. Keys that were activated with 1.0.3 or earlier keep working; nothing needs to be entered again.

• On activation and on the daily check the plugin reports its own version and the versions of

the CMS (Joomla or WordPress), PHP and YOOtheme Pro to the gateway, and to nothing else. The YOOzeCase account page lists them under Installations, so a site owner can see which version each site runs. These values never change the outcome of the check.

• Deactivating the key while the gateway cannot be reached no longer clears the key locally. The

activation slot is still taken on the gateway side in that case, and the panel now says so instead of showing a key that is not there.

• Joomla: saving the licence state writes only the five licence fields back to the plugin settings

instead of the whole settings record, so a setting saved by an administrator in the meantime is kept.

• WordPress: the updater reads package from the update feed and falls back to download_url, the

field used by 1.0.3 and earlier. The feed carries both with the same value. The Update URI in the plugin header now names wp-update.json in full.

• LICENSE.txt carries the full text of the GNU General Public License version 2 and nothing else.

The trademark notice moved to NOTICE.txt, where it is spelled out in full.

• BUILDINFO.txt is written in the fingerprint format the YOOzeCase build tooling checks, and no

longer refers to a checksum file next to the package.

Fixed

• With more thumbnails than fit the slider width, the first thumbnails could not be reached or

clicked. The strip was centred, so its contents overflowed on both sides while a scroll position can never go below zero, which left the start of the row permanently out of reach. On a slider with 25 slides that was roughly the first half. The strip now falls back to the start as soon as the row no longer fits, and stays centred while it does.

• The horizontal scrollbar over the bottom of the slider is gone. The strip still scrolls; only the

bar itself is hidden.

Added

• The thumbnail strip follows the slider. On every slide change the active thumbnail is brought into

view, so the visitor always sees where they are without dragging the strip by hand. The motion respects the reduced motion preference, and only the strip moves, never the page.

Fixed

• On Joomla 5.4 the plugin settings page returned a server error (500). The licence key field

declared a private helper named render(), and Joomla 5.4 made render() a public method on its form field base class, which turns that declaration into a compile error the field cannot catch. The helper is renamed; the settings page opens again on both tabs.

Changed

• The pre-release check now flags a form field that redeclares a Joomla FormField method with a

lower visibility, so this class of error is caught before a package is built.

• WordPress: version alignment with the Joomla package only. The WordPress plugin is functionally

identical to 1.0.1.

Fixed

• The 1.0.0 package on the update server contained an older engine build in which sliders were

initialised one after another without yielding. This release ships the intended engine, which spreads initialisation over separate frames. No functional change to the slider itself.

First production release. The version number is the only thing that changes about how the plugin is built; from here semantic versioning is strict and every release is distributed through the update server.

Added

• Custom CSS per slider, on the Advanced tab. Rules are scoped to that one slider automatically,

so .yc-slider__cap-title { ... } styles only this slider and nothing else on the page. Start a rule with & to target the slider element itself. @media, @supports, @layer and @container blocks are scoped from the inside; @keyframes and @font-face are left alone. Two sliders with identical CSS share one block on the page.

• Navigation: Arrows + Thumbnails. Side arrows and the thumbnail strip can now be shown together.

On a narrow screen the strip uses smaller thumbnails and keeps clear of the arrow buttons.

• Consent for the newsletter form. The alert box signup now shows a required consent checkbox and

an optional link to your privacy policy, both with your own wording. The form cannot be submitted until the box is ticked, and the checkbox is deliberately not sent to your newsletter provider, so the payload it receives is unchanged.

• Licence key. A Licence tab in the plugin settings with Activate and Deactivate, a status badge

and the date of the last check. The check runs in the administration only, is cached for 24 hours and keeps working for seven days if the licence server cannot be reached, so a network problem never takes a site down. Removing the plugin releases the activation, so the key can be used on another site. The front end is never blocked by the licence.

• Build fingerprint. BUILDINFO.txt now carries a build id and a checksum over the package

contents, next to the version and the date, as required from 1.0.0 onwards.

• Preload hint for the first slide image. The first slider on a page now emits a

<link rel="preload" as="image" fetchpriority="high"> for its first image, so the browser starts that download while it is still parsing instead of waiting for the engine to run. Only the first slider on the page, and only when the image is a plain URL: with dynamic content the value is still a builder placeholder at that point.

• Initialisation is spread out. When several sliders enter the viewport in the same

IntersectionObserver callback, only the first is built immediately and the rest are queued one per frame. Building eighteen sliders in a single tick used to hold the main thread for as long as it took.

Fixed

• Custom CSS was missing entirely. The Advanced tab referenced YOOtheme's ${builder.css}, which

does not exist, so no CSS field was ever rendered. Version 0.9.0 had removed the plugin's own CSS field and told people to re-enter their CSS under Advanced, CSS; that place never existed. There is a real field again.

• The consent checkbox and the email field shared a CSS rule. .yc-slider__alert-form input

matched both, so the checkbox was stretched to 46 to 60 pixels wide. The rule now targets the email field only.

• The email field grew to 175 pixels tall below 480 pixels. In the stacked layout the main axis

runs vertically, so flex: 1 1 160px sized the height instead of the width.

• The alert bar could fall outside the slider. It is now bounded by the height of the slider and

scrolls internally if the content does not fit. On a phone a top or bottom bar becomes a stacked panel, the image is hidden and the play/pause control steps aside, so the newsletter form stays usable down to 320 pixels.

Changed

• Dead files are no longer shipped: services/, src/Extension/ and the two element.json files

were in the package but not in the manifest, so they were never installed.
