1. Who we are
A YOOzeCase Company is a registered trade name of Dattan, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 54879973, with its registered address at Voorhaven 10, 3024 RM Rotterdam, The Netherlands. You can reach us at
These Terms of Service apply to yoozecase.com and all its subdomains, including shop.yoozecase.com, updates.yoozecase.com and connect.yoozecase.com (together: "the Website"), and to all software products, licenses, updates and support we provide (together: "the Software").
By using the Website, creating an account, downloading or purchasing our Software, you agree to these Terms.
2. Independence and trademarks
A YOOzeCase Company operates as an independent business. We are not part of, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Joomla!® Project, Open Source Matters, Inc., WordPress, the WordPress Foundation, Automattic Inc., or YOOtheme GmbH.
Joomla!® is a registered trademark of Open Source Matters, Inc. Our use of the Joomla! name and branding is strictly governed by a limited license from the trademark owner. WordPress® is a registered trademark of the WordPress Foundation. YOOtheme and YOOtheme Pro are trademarks of YOOtheme GmbH. All other trademarks mentioned on the Website belong to their respective owners and are used solely to describe compatibility.
3. Products and licensing
3.1 What you buy
Our products are software extensions (plugins, modules, components and builder elements) for Joomla, WordPress and YOOtheme Pro. The source code of our Software is free software under the GNU General Public License; see section 3.6. What you pay for is a subscription: access to downloads, updates and support for as long as that subscription is active, together with a license key that identifies you as a subscriber.
3.2 What your subscription gives you
A paid subscription gives you a license key and access to the downloads, updates and support that belong to your product, for the websites that you own or manage, up to the activation limit that applies to your subscription. This includes websites you build and maintain for your clients.
The license key and the account are personal to you and may not be transferred, shared or resold. That is separate from the source code itself, which you may use, modify and pass on under the terms of the GPL (section 3.6).
3.3 What you may not do
The source code of our Software is licensed under the GPL and you have every freedom that license grants you. The restrictions below apply to what the GPL does not cover: our name, our brand and the access you buy.
You may not:
- use our trademarks, product names, logos or branding for your own product, or present a modified version of our Software as an official YOOzeCase release;
- redistribute our product images, demo content, documentation or other non-code assets without our permission;
- resell, rent out, share or publish your license keys, or give others access to your account;
- use the Software or the Website for anything unlawful.
If you redistribute a modified version of the source code, as the GPL allows, remove all references to YOOzeCase and to our product names from that version. That keeps your version clearly yours and ours clearly ours.
3.4 Subscriptions and renewal
Paid licenses are sold as a subscription that renews automatically every six months, unless stated otherwise on the product page. You can cancel at any time; your license then remains valid until the end of the paid period. After that:
- the Software keeps working on the sites where it is installed;
- you no longer receive updates, new features or security fixes;
- you no longer have access to support.
3.5 Free products
Some products are offered free of charge. Free products come without any support obligation and may be changed or discontinued at any time. All other provisions of these Terms, including sections 6 and 7, apply equally to free products.
3.6 Licensing of the source code
The source code of our Software for Joomla and WordPress is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. That applies to our paid products as well as our free ones. You receive all rights the GPL grants: you may use, study, modify and redistribute the code. Each package contains the full license text in LICENSE.txt.
The GPL covers the code. It does not cover:
- our trademarks, product names, logos and branding, which remain protected and may not be used without our permission;
- our product images, demo content, documentation and other non-code assets, which we distribute under our own terms;
- your access to downloads, updates and support, which continues to require an active subscription and a valid license key.
Third-party components included in our Software keep their own licenses; these are listed in NOTICE.txt in each package.
4. Purchases, payment and refunds
All purchases are processed by Link, LLC, operating as Lemon Squeezy (formerly Lemon Squeezy, LLC), our Merchant of Record. This means Lemon Squeezy handles the checkout, payment, invoicing, applicable VAT or sales tax, and refund processing. By purchasing, you also agree to the Lemon Squeezy terms.
Prices are shown in euros. VAT is applied at checkout based on your country and, for businesses, your VAT number (reverse charge may apply within the EU).
4.1 Refunds
Because our products are digital goods that are delivered immediately, you agree that the delivery starts right after purchase and you waive the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content once the Software has been downloaded or the license key has been activated.
That said, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If the Software does not work as described and we cannot fix the problem within a reasonable time, contact us within 14 days of purchase at
5. Your responsibilities
Installing software on a live website always carries risk. You are responsible for:
- Backups. Make a complete backup of your website and database before installing, updating or removing any of our Software.
- Staging first. Test the Software on a staging or development copy of your website before installing it on a production site.
- Environment. Meeting the system requirements listed on the product page (such as Joomla, WordPress, YOOtheme Pro and PHP versions) and keeping your website and its extensions up to date.
- Account security. Keeping your account credentials and license keys confidential.
We are not responsible for data loss or downtime that could have been prevented by a backup or a staging test.
6. Software provided "as is"
The Software and the Website are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every combination of extensions, templates, themes or server configurations.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that consumers have under mandatory law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damage, including loss of data, loss of profit, loss of revenue or reputational damage, arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Software or the Website.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Software in the six months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50 if you use a free product. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence on our part.
8. Accounts
You may need an account to access downloads, license keys or support. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, or that share or resell license keys.
9. Support and updates
Support is provided by email for paid products with an active subscription. We aim to respond within a reasonable time on business days, but we do not guarantee response or resolution times. Support covers the use of our Software; it does not cover general website building, custom development or third-party products.
Updates are delivered through our update server. An active subscription and a valid license key are required to receive updates for paid products.
10. Intellectual property
The source code of our Software is licensed to you under the GPL as described in section 3.6, and the terms of that license govern what you may do with it.
Everything outside that code remains ours: our product names, trademarks, logos, branding, product images, demo content, documentation and the content of the Website. Except for the licenses explicitly granted in section 3, no rights are transferred to you. Third-party components keep their own licenses.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add new products or services. The version published on the Website applies. For material changes that affect active subscriptions we will notify you by email.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together will be submitted to the competent court in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law designates another court.
